Alterations Agreement

By signing below, you agree to the alterations confirmed on your order ticket and to the shop policies that follow. Please read each section and enter your initials where indicated.

Customer & Garment

1. Agreed Alterations

The shop will perform only the alterations written on your order ticket, with the prices confirmed by our staff. Any change you request after that is a new request and may cost extra and extend the timeline.

  • Fittings are where you approve the work. Please bring the exact shoes and undergarments you will wear at the event to every fitting. Fit and hem length are set based on what you wear at the fitting.
  • At each fitting, you will be asked to confirm the fit, length and style. Once you approve a fitting, that approval is final for the work shown.
  • Our staff may recommend alterations, but the final decision on what is done is yours.

2. Garment Condition & Fabric Risks

Altering formal and bridal wear carries risks the shop cannot fully control. You understand and accept that:

  • Delicate fabrics (silk, satin, chiffon, tulle, lace, beaded and sequined pieces) may show needle marks, pressing marks or slight changes in texture after alteration.
  • Beading, sequins, lace appliqué or trim may need to be removed and reattached; exact original placement may not be possible.
  • Some alterations cannot be undone, such as shortening a hem or taking in seams with little seam allowance.
  • Dye lots, fabric age and prior wear may affect how fabric responds to pressing or steaming.
  • The shop is not responsible for pre-existing damage, weak seams, stains or defects, whether or not they are noted at drop-off.

3. Final Fitting & Acceptance

Your final fitting is your chance to raise any concern. Please try the garment on and check it carefully before you leave.

  • If something does not match what was agreed in Section 1, tell us at the final fitting and we will correct it at no charge.
  • Once you sign the pickup acceptance or take the garment home, the work is considered accepted as completed.
  • Changes requested after acceptance because of a change of mind, a different style preference, or advice from others are new work and will be charged at our standard rates.
  • Fit depends on your body at the time of fitting. The shop is not responsible for fit changes caused by weight gain or loss, pregnancy, different undergarments or shoes, or other changes after the final fitting.
  • If you skip or reschedule a fitting, or pick up without trying the garment on, you accept the garment as completed.

4. Payment & Refunds

  • A deposit of 50% is due at drop-off. The balance is due at pickup, before the garment leaves the shop.
  • Alteration fees are non-refundable once work has begun, because the labor cannot be returned.
  • If you cancel before work begins, the deposit will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee.
  • Rush orders (completion in under 3 weeks) carry an added fee of $100 and depend on availability.
  • Altered garments cannot be returned or exchanged.

5. Pickup & Unclaimed Garments

  • We will contact you when your garment is ready. Please pick it up within 14 days.
  • Garments left more than 14 days after the ready date may be charged a storage fee of $25 per week.
  • Garments unclaimed after 60 days, with written notice sent to the contact information above, may be considered abandoned and handled as permitted by law.

6. Limitation of Liability

If the shop is found responsible for damage to your garment, our liability is limited to the cost of the alterations paid, or to repairing the damage, at the shop's choice. The shop is not liable for loss of use, event-related costs, or emotional distress. Nothing in this agreement limits rights you have that cannot be waived under applicable law.
